Syed Ghazi Ghazan Jamal

Syed Ghazi Ghazan Jamal is a development and public policy practitioner. He is a
former member of parliament in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa assembly elected from
district Orakzai. He also served as Special Assistant to Chief Minister KP for Excise,
Taxations and Narcotics Control department along with serving as focal person for
Chief Minister KP for the merged areas following the merger of FATA with KP. He
previously worked as Country Economist at the International Growth Center and as a
consultant for leading international organizations like the World Bank and UNDP.
Ghazan is a regular contributor to leading national newspapers like Dawn and The
News primarily focusing on issues of governance, economic development and
around the merged areas of Pakistan. He currently works as a development
consultant and is also teaching a masters level course to students pursing a degree
in Governance and Public Policy.
He was a Rosenthal fellow working at the office of US Senator Sherrod Brown as a
legislative fellow. As a Fulbright scholar he did his Masters in Public Policy from the
Humphrey School at the University of Minnesota and has a Bachelors in economics
from LUMS.
